Guest Artist Information
June 23rd (Friday)
Sarah will offer classes and presentations for 28 campers.
Students wishing to perform for Sarah Jackson on Friday, June 23rd, should bring a prepared piece to camp. There will be an audition held on Wednesday, June 21st, at which five students will be selected to perform. Selection will be based on preparation, and will represent differing levels.
June 24th (Saturday) - Guest Artist Day
Sarah will offer classes and presentations for campers and Guest Artist Day attendees during the day and a concert in the evening featuring solos works from the flute and piccolo repertoire and ensemble pieces performed with the Camp Coordinators/Staff.

Welcome to The Lodge on Palomar Mountain, an historic 1920's rustic retreat with modern amenities. The Lodge is located in the peaceful, rural mountain community of Palomar Mountain, California.
The Grand Front Patio Deck, with its huge outdoor stone fireplace and commanding views to the south from over a mile above sea level, boasts beautiful distant views to the Pacific Ocean, Point Loma, and the skyline of San Diego. Campers can also enjoy stargazing at its best – billions and billions of stars!
The 1800 square-foot Great Room is a perfect space for activities, socialization, evening relaxation and concerts. The newly remodeled, spacious kitchen with 2 ranges, 2 refrigerators, abundant storage and counter space make meal preparation a joyous experience. The Grand Front Patio Deck also has a BBQ grill.
The Lodge boasts ten private bedroom suites, plus eight bathrooms. Nine suites have luxurious queen beds complete with nightstands and dressers. One suite has an antique bedroom set with full size bed and armoire. Four suites have their own private baths-two have tub/shower combos and the other two have tile showers. Additionally, there are two common area guest baths with tile showers and two common area restrooms (no showers or baths).
There is free Internet access available in the Great Room and all guest rooms.
There is a large Fire Station less than 1⁄2 mile from the venue with 24-hour staffing of EMT certified personnel. There is also a heliport should a serious condition require life flight.
ELIGIBILITY
- Open to students Grade 5 thru Grade 12 (Ages 10 thru 18 years).
- Students do not need to be members of San Diego Flute Guild to attend.
- There are only 28 spaces available, so be sure to register early as space is first-come/first-served.
- A waiting list will be opened once these 28 spots are filled. If a spot becomes available, it will be offered to the first person on the waiting list, and so on.
- Campers must abide by the rules and regulations.
*With the exception of Guest Artist Day, there is not an option for separate day(s) registration.
Registration & Deadlines
- Registration for The Palomar Mountain Flute Retreat must be received by May 15th, 2017.
- Campers may secure a spot with a down payment of $100 prior to the registration deadline, but payment in full must be received by May 15th, 2017.
- All payments are non- refundable.
