This Saturday, Jane Masur will lead a discussion on preparation and will show how playing in a masterclass is part of that preparation. This class will feature 2 performers that will focus on what it takes to bring a piece of music to the next level:

Emma Ward will play Andante et Scherzo by Louis Ganne

Sofia Gutierrez will play Telemann Fantasia No. 1 in A Major

Jane will give a presentation discussing "A Year at a Glance" and how to make correct decisions for life and timing in order to get successful results. Personal commitments and meeting deadlines are very much connected to successful results in music performance, and Jane Masur will walk us through how to make these decisions.

Jane with her unique focused pedagogical approach is able to mentor students to high levels of achievement. Her students have performed all over the world and have gained positions in major orchestras.

Jane's unique pedagogy is a fusion of many influences throughout her performing career.  These influences have defined her sense of music and flute performance.  The backbone of her pedagogy is the French School of Music.  Jane is a dedicated educator and musician.  She knows how to motivate students which has been learned through her many years of teaching.

Born in Hollywood, California Jane Masur began studying flute at age 12.  She attended San Diego State University where she studied with Fritz Baker.
