Message from the President

The SDFG Board and I are so excited for what we are planning for this coming year! We appreciate your patience as we got initial plans completed so we could share details with all of you. One priority for this year is to make sure that all area teachers (members and non-members alike) know what's happening with SDFG so all of you can spread the word about our amazing events to your students. To help with that, we're bringing back the Teachers' Luncheon next month! More details below, but it's going to be a fun time where you can meet board members, share ideas, and hear what we have in store for the 2019-2020 year. I highly encourage you to come! For the rest of our members, stay tuned to our events page. We've also put a snapshot of upcoming events on our home page for easy reference.

I know I always say this in my messages, but please don't hesitate to share any feedback with me or any board member. We want to make this organization better each year and the way we do that is through working together and sharing ideas. I'm looking forward to seeing you at some of our fall events coming up!

Teachers' Luncheon - October 5th

The SDFG Board invites all teachers to the 2019 Teachers' Luncheon on October 5th at 2:00pm. Alina Steele, local teacher and SDFG 1st V.P. and Treasurer, will be hosting the event at her home in Encinitas. We'll be sharing details about all our upcoming fall events and giving a sneak peek at what's to come in the spring. This is a great chance to network and socialize with other teachers. There will be food and drink provided.

So that we can plan refreshments, please let us know if you will be joining us by filling out this short RSVP form

Annual Meeting of the Members &
Fall Members' Recital

The San Diego Flute Guild Annual Meeting of the Members will be on Sunday, October 27th at 1:30pm at Carmel Valley Library. This brief meeting will recap on our 2018-2019 season and give you all the updates for the 2019-2020 season. You can also meet the board members and play through a couple flute choir tunes. This event is open to members and non-members. Plan to bring your instrument and flute stand if you would like to partake in the flute choir reading.

Following the meeting will be the 2019 Fall Members' Recital. Solo and Chamber works welcome, but selections must not exceed 8 minutes. At least 1 person in each performing group must be an SDFG member.

For our SDFG membership, we will provide a pianist for any performer who requests one, free of charge. After your registration has been submitted, contact information will be shared. Performers and pianists will need to coordinate rehearsals on their own time and there will not be any opportunity to soundcheck at the event. Performances will also be recorded, free of charge, and links provided after the event.

Registration is now open for our Fall Members' Recital! The registration deadline is October 20th, but spots are limited, so registration may close before that date. Selection of performers is on a first come, first served basis. To get more details or to register, please click the button below.
