Message from the President

I hope all of you have had a wonderful summer, filled with time together with family and friends and some relaxing times thrown in there too! Your SDFG board is going to be hard at work over the next few weeks finalizing our calendar. I encourage you to pay special attention to next month's newsletter where we'll be announcing most of our programming for the coming year.

As always, if you have any suggestions or feedback, let us know! We're here to make sure all our members have interesting, educational, and entertaining events to attend.

Annual Meeting of the Members + Fall Members' Recital

Date: October 27, 2019

Location: Carmel Valley Library Branch

Time: 1:00 pm

All are invited to attend the Annual Meeting of the Members and Fall Members' Recital at Carmel Valley Library. We'll start with a brief meeting where we will discuss this upcoming year's events and new opportunities. You'll be able to meet the board members and fellow guild members at this informal meeting. We'll read a couple of flute choir tunes as a group too!

Immediately following the meeting will be the Fall Members' Recital. Registration will open soon and spots are limited, so we encourage you to sign up early. This recital will be recorded and a pianist will be provided as a benefit for SDFG members.

This event is FREE to attend and is open to both members and non-members, so please invite friends, family, and those who would be interested in the San Diego Flute Guild!

2019-2020 SDFG Scholarships

Did you know that SDFG members can apply for scholarships on our website? Scholarships are given to deserving applicants in the Southern California region. We are currently updating our scholarship process to include separate application forms for the student and their respective instructor. Scholarships can be used for membership fees, recital and performance fees, instrumental needs, and anything else that helps further your development in your flute career.

Restrictions do apply. To find out more about this benefit, visit our Scholarship Page for more details.

If you would like to donate to our Scholarship Fund, please visit the Donation Page of our website.

SDFG Membership Renewal

You will soon receive a notice to renew your SDFG membership. Our new membership year begins on September 1st, so renew promptly to ensure your benefits remain after that date. This year, we have updated annual fees for several of our membership levels:

    Student: $35

    Adult: $50

    Senior: $25

    Business: $60

We've heard from several of you that you want more member events that are relevant for all ages and experience levels. The SDFG board is committed to providing more events that are either free or reduced cost for members and are for a wider range of attendees. We're looking forward to announcing more specifics in the coming weeks.
