Message from the President

I can't believe it, but fall is almost here! Your SDFG board has been hard at work crafting events for the coming year. First up is our Annual Meeting of the Members and Fall Members' Recital on November 4th (read below for details!). We're also working hard on our Holiday Concert, Chamber Fest, and Spring Festival! We have some exciting changes this year to our events and we look forward to having you all there!

I look forward to meeting many of you at our events this year! Please don't hesitate to email me if you have thoughts about any of our scheduled events or ideas for new ones.

Farah Zolghadr, President

Annual Meeting of the Members

Date: November 4th, 2018

Location: Carmel Valley Library Branch

Time: 1:00 pm

We have an exciting year in store for the San Diego Flute Guild! You are invited to attend the Annual Meeting of the Members and Fall Members' Recital at Carmel Valley Library. We will reflect on last year's events and announce this upcoming year's events and new opportunities. Meet the board members, meet fellow guild members, perform at the recital, and enjoy some refreshments.

This meeting is FREE to attend and is open to both members and non-members, so please invite friends, family, and those who would be interested in the San Diego Flute Guild!

Immediately following the meeting will be the Fall Member's Recital. Plan to stay, play, and support your fellow flutists!

Membership Recital Registration

Take advantage of your Membership Benefit with the San Diego Flute Guild! We are currently looking for performers to be on the Fall Members' Recital that will follow the Annual Meeting of the Members, starting at 2:00pm on November 4th at Carmel Valley Library

Pianist, Katherine Dvoskin, is provided at no cost to participants: a new membership benefit for this year. Performers are welcome to provide their own pianist if they prefer.

The Fall Members' Recital will be recorded (audio only) and recordings will be made available a couple weeks after the recital.

If you would like to be a performer, please register here by October 28th, 2018. Groups and solo performances are welcome, but spots are limited. At least one member in each performance MUST be an SDFG member.

Scholarships

Did you know that SDFG members can apply for scholarships on our website? Scholarships are given to deserving applicants in the Southern California region. We are currently updating our scholarship process to include separate application forms for the student and their respective instructor. Scholarships can be used for membership fees, recital and performance fees, instrumental needs, and anything else that helps further your development in your flute career.

Restrictions do apply. To find out more about this benefit, visit our Scholarship Page for more details.
