All of our live events are happening on Discord. Join the SDFG Discord Server to attend our classes. Discord is free and so is this class!

The third class of the 2nd Saturday (Technology) Series - will focus on editing audio and video for virtual ensembles.

After creating the click tracks, and getting the individual videos from performers, what do you do then?? Come to this class to find out.

September's class focused on Audio recording for flute players

October's class focused on leading a virtual ensemble (creating click tracks, guide tracks, and the "audio" side of things) and how to create and share the  individual performance videos

November's class will focus on the editing. You will see the actual process of compiling the audio and video files into a final product.

Alina Freiman Steele received a BM in Flute Performance and a BS in Sound Recording Technology from DePaul University in Chicago. After graduation, Alina interned and worked as a music engineer at the top studio in Chicago,  CRC (Chicago Recording Company).  Soon after, Alina pursued further studies in music technology and flute performance at NYU, where she received an MM. After NYU, Alina focused on music editing for film, sound design, and sound editing. Many of the films that she worked on went on to screen at large festivals such as Cannes and Tribeca Film Festival. In February 2013, Alina got a job at CBS Corporate Radio, working as sound designer and editor for CBS Digital Media. She worked with top 40 celebrities daily, including Mariah Carey, Cher, Sheryl Crow, and many many others. Alina Steele also produced audio for many TV commercials, including Mastercard, Allstate, and commercials for the Grammys and Country Music Awards. Alina's audio work has been featured on CBS, CBS Sports, Showtime, HBO, and ESPN.

In 2015, Alina Steele decided to leave her hometown (Brooklyn, NYC) to pursue a life of fluting in beautiful, coastal San Diego. She currently resides in Encinitas with her vegan chef husband, and adorable almost-3 year old son. In addition to being president of the San Diego Flute Guild, Alina is also the founder and director of the San Diego Flute Academy.
